Thanks (for) Giving

Ronit came to Israel’s Lev LaLev Girls Orphanage in Netanya three years ago as a sad and forlorn ten year old. Since she was a young child she had been raised by her grandparents who unfortunately became too old and ill to care for her. One of our staff members noticed that each day Ronit would eat a half a piece of bread for breakfast, and then neatly wrap the other half in plastic and take it to her room. When asked about this Ronit answered, “The other half is for my dinner”.
Even though she received nutritious meals each night, she was always concerned about her future. It took almost a year before she understood that her nutritional needs would be met each and every day. Without your help, we would not be able to provide for the dietary needs of Ronit and the other girls at the Orphanage. On average, it costs just $49 a week to feed an orphaned girl.

Not surprisingly, food is our largest annual budgeted expense at the Home. It is heartwarming to know that there are so many people from all over the world who help our orphaned girls through their generous support.

As we approach Thanksgiving in the United States, I’d like to express my
“Thanksforgiving”. It is so very important for the health and welfare of our girls.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. May you enjoy it with your family and friends.
