Sharing and Caring

We are all effected when there is a terrorist attack in Israel.  One of our friends from Durban, South Africa shared this poem with us. As a social worker and therapist I know that many people write poems, letters, or music to express their feelings. Our girls at Lev Lalev met with a grief counselor the day after the attack. While all our girls were physically safe, they, like everyone in Israel were shaken up. To paraphrase the poem below there should be no more pain and no more desdain. Amen

when a Jew falls with pain,
the world darkens in refrain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
they mourn gentle with restrain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
we lose, while the devils gain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
the truth is crushed into a grain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
the skies burst with rain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
nobody wants to know or explain.
when a Jew falls with pain ,
the rain cries softly over the plain.
when a Jew falls with pain,
the heavens spurn evil with disdain.

Amen.
