Shabbat Shalom

Ten things we want to share with you about Lev Lalev; and about Israel at this time.

We want a cease fire: they want to fire!
As Shabbat approaches let us pray for the end of violence and hatred. In the very name of Jerusalem- Yerushalayim in Hebrew is the words Shalom (peace) and Shleimot (completion).
May this Shabbos usher in a era of peace (in Israel, Gaza, Ukraine) and throughout the world.
And may we use our energies to help build a better world.

1. We have over 100 girls in the Lev Lalev Orphanage; half have no parents and most of the other girls have one parent who is too weak to care for their daughters.

2. Each year we run the Lev Lalev summer camp for our children from the Home and for girls from the adjacent neighborhoods. This year we rescued about 150 additional girls from communities in the South of Israel (Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Sdeirot), who live closest to Gaza. In general the people from these communities have around 15 seconds to reach a shelter.

3. Our program usually has a lot of outdoor activities and travel. This year we have not traveled at all and most of the time we are only 50-100 yards from our building.

4. We operate Lev Lalev 12 months a year 24/7. The Lev Lalev Fund helps the orphanage with specific programs and projects which include summer camp, stipends for higher education, all special educational projects, trips, clothing, bridal fund, and the funding of mental health programs. We do many Mitzvot for our girls.

5. For many reasons about half of our girls are in therapy and/or need special educational help and support.

6. We have many friends the world over. Donors are young and old, Jewish and Gentile, believers and free thinkers.

7. All of our friends have two things in common. They want to help orphans and disadvantaged girls become stronger and self sufficient and they believe in Israel and care deeply in the future of Israel and its people.

8. You can follow the progress of Lev Lalev our efforts, challenges and successes by visiting our website at www.levlalev.com or our facebook page Lev Lalev.

9. Of course we encourage and welcome donations. Just as our donor population is diverse so are the amounts that people donate. There are people who donate monthly through the website; others who donate often in response to our various appeals, and some who measure their donations through tithing or just making donations as they can.

10. The Arab- Israeli conflict in perspective: Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the difference between Hamas and Israel is that Israel uses its missiles to protect its citizens while Hamas uses its citizens to protect its missiles. Forty years ago then Prime Minister Golda Meir said something very profound which remains true to this day. The Arab- Israeli conflict will end once the Arabs will love their children more then they hate the Jews.

I have just looked at where you are situated on the map of Israel…and I Praised The Lord that you are not near Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod or Ekron(now officially Qiryat ʿEqron) The reason being that a certain ancient Prophecy is waiting to be fulfilled, found in The Old Testament of God’s Holy Word:-
    Zephaniah 2:4 CJB
    Complete Jewish Bible
For ‘Azah will be abandoned, Ashkelon will be desolate, they will evacuate Ashdod at noon, and ‘Ekron will be uprooted.
    Zephaniah 2:4 HNV
    Hebrew Names Version
For `Aza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation. They will drive out Ashdod at noonday, and `Ekron will be rooted up.
I believe that this war will continue till this Prophecy is fulfilled…Very Soon! If this happens then we are Very, Very Close to The Time of Jacob’s Trouble.
Israel has behaved with Honour towards The Palestinians and The Palestinians have thrown that Honour back in Israel’s face, time and time again. You are God’s Chosen People and Without You, We Would Not Be Grafted Onto The Root Of Jesse. Our Lord God Knows Everything and Has Total Control Over All…His Will Be Done.
    Peace and Blessings,
    Rebecca Bonnell xxx
