Happy 66th Birthday Israel!

Today, we honor the memory of Israel’s fallen soldiers. Last week we remembered the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust. Tomorrow we celebrate Yom Haatzmot-Israel’s 66th Independence Day. We reflect and marvel at what the Jewish people have achieved in such a short amount of time. In 1948, when Israel was established as the first Jewish State in over two thousand years, the population of Israel was under 800,000 people. Today, there are more than 8.2 million citizens (75% Jewish, 20% Arab, and 5% Christians and others).

Despite seven wars and countless skirmishes, international sanctions, and day-today terrorist attacks, “Am Yisrael Chai” Israel and the Jewish people live.

 Israel is a miracle.

Israel is a homeland of Jews who have ingathered from the four corners of the earth.

Israel offers all Jews-indeed- all people- HOPE.

Israel is a working democracy in a region where brutality, inhumanity, and terror is the norm.

Israel is a light onto the Nations.

Israel is MY inspiration.

Today I made a special donation to Lev Lalev in honor of Israel’s Independence Day. Wont you, please join me! *

“Zeh Hayom Asah Hashem Nagilah V’nismicha Bo”…… This is the day that Hashem has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Tehilim/Psalms 118: 24.

*The Funds raised this week in honor of Israel will provide our orphaned and disadvantaged girls with a funding for a special Shabbat trip to Jerusalem and the Kotel, and for the girls spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. (Let us know if the girls can pray for you and your family when they visit the Kotel later this month).
